Stage I 100 Hours
February 22nd - March 13th, 2009
Students will gain a strong foundation in the methodology, philosophy, psychology and practical aspects of Patanjalim’s Astanga Yoga system. We will explore the science of Asana and the art of addressing the individual’s needs through Yoga using Yoga Chikitsa, or Yoga therapy, as our guide. Students will learn adjustments, as well as how to successfully read individuals physiology and to make the necessary modifications for their benefit.

Stage II 100 Hours April 12th - May 1st, 2009
Trainees must have completed Phase I
A three week intensive in which we will investigate further into the art of Patanjalim Yoga and teaching skills. Students will have the opportunity to develop their own classes and teaching styles. Student practice will deepen as we focus on longer holds in asanas, inversions, arm balances, hip openers and backbends in particular, using the Intermediate Series of Astanga Yoga as our guide. Our prime objective will be to prepare students further for the practical application of what they have learned in offering classes of their own...

Teacher Training application & reservation:
1) Send a $350 nonrefundable deposit made out to Yoga Hanalei.
The balance is due by the first day of the training.
Total for the training is $4000.
2) Include a letter describing:
a) How long have you been practicing Yoga?
b) Who are your main teachers?
c) How long have you studied with them?
d) A recommendation, preferably from a Yoga teacher.
e) What tradition of Yoga do you practice?
f) Any physical or psychological conditions that you have.
g) Are you currently on any medications?

Cancellation Policy: Yoga Hanalei reserves the right to cancel any teacher training if there are fewer then 10 participants registered two weeks prior to the event date. All deposits will be returned in full. We have yet to cancel any training.
